Easter 2013
“There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again.” -Elizabeth Lawrence
Sophia celebrated Easter with her cousins in Mesa. They all had a blast. They went Easter egg hunting and played in the grass all day. Their smiles and laughter were very contagious. It made me miss being a kid with no worries.
“Nature is painting for us, day after day, pictures of infinite beauty, if only we have the eyes to see them.” - John Ruskin
I captured this silhouette of Sophia last November at Freestone Park in Gilbert, Ariz. This is one of my favorite shots of her, because it’s very natural. Nature helped me capture this stunning moment in my daughter’s life. She was running around the park that day with a little stick in her hand, while having a great time. I shot this at the perfect moment to create this beautiful silhouette.
My 2-year-old beauty
“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.” - Audrey Hepburn
It’s crazy how fast time flies by super fast. I haven’t had time to post my updated photos until now. Time is flying by fast for me, because I can’t believe that I have a 2-year-old already. My daughter turned two on Sept. 1. I took some of these photos of her new age last month at the Scottsdale Civic Center Plaza. I brought some of her toys, books, and two sets of clothes. I have taken many, many pictures of kids and toddlers are the definitely the hardest to shoot. My daughter really didn’t want to take pictures. She wanted to play and run, but I was determined to get a few good shots.
For the second part of her shoot, I dressed her up as a baby Audrey Hepburn. That was also her Halloween outfit this year. She is definitely a girly girl. She loves to dance, put on pretend make-up, pretend her crayons are lipstick, sing, read, and she loves stuffed animals. She’s definitely a character and I love her dearly.
Grand Canyon - August 2012
“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.” Albert Einstein
In August, I took a trip to the Grand Canyon with my family. Although this wasn’t my first time there, I was still captivated by it’s beauty. It felt as if it were my first time there.
I decided to take a few nature shots to capture some of its beauty. It was amazing how the clouds created a unique art piece above the canyon. Every time the clouds moved, it painted a new picture. It was nice to relax and admire nature’s art come to life.
Guam - March/April 2012
“Home is where the heart is.” - Gaius Plinius Secundus
My little family and I went back home last March to April. We went there for my husband’s grandmother’s funeral. It was a bittersweet trip. Although it was an unfortunate reason for us to be back home, it was nice to celebrate life with our loved ones who are still here. Other than the funeral, we spent a lot of time with our families. We also took a mini-trip around the island and I had to opportunity to take a few shots of our beautiful home. I wish that I could’ve taken more, but we were really, really busy juggling everything.
Motherly Love
“No language can express the power, and beauty, and heroism, and majesty of a mother’s love. It shrinks not where man cowers, and grows stronger where man faints, and over wastes of worldly fortunes sends the radiance of its quenchless fidelity like a star.” ~Edwin Hubbell Chapin
When we were back home for the short time for Momsy’s funeral, my friend, Naomi, came to visit me at my mom’s house. She was about 8 months pregnant at the time. When she visited me, I took a few photos of her to capture her motherly glow. She’s a beautiful woman already, but when she was pregnant her glow made her even more beautiful. She gave birth in April and a beautiful baby girl who she named Samone.
Tenorio Family
“When you look at your life, the greatest happinesses are family happinesses.” ~Joyce Brothers
The Scottsdale Civic Center Plaza is one of my favorite places in Arizona to take pictures of people. It’s green, beautiful, and it is a very relaxing place. The Tenorios (Curt, Jami, and Ethan) seemed to love it, too. Ethan enjoyed riding his little razor and playing with his superhero gear. The beautiful family added with the gorgeous scenery made lovely photos.
Ethan
“There comes a time in every rightly constructed boy’s life when he has a raging desire to go somewhere and dig for hidden treasure.” ~ Mark Twain
Ethan is my handsome, little godson. He has to be the most handsome 4-year-old. I took his and his family’s photos on Feb. 18 at the Scottsdale Civic Center Plaza.
Ethan is an easygoing little guy who loves his superheroes. He often imagines himself as Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and the list goes on. He is the sweetest little guy with an amazing imagination. In case you were wondering, he is very excited to see The Avengers in May.Clint and Gerardette Part 2
“Everything is clearer when you’re in love.” ~John Lennon
Clint and Gerardette’s reception was held at Noah’s in Chandler. They were both really happy that day. They thought their wedding was perfect and it was what they wanted. It was nice to finally see them say, “I do.” They have been together for over a decade and finally made it official. Their love conquered all.
Clint and Gerardette Part I
“A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.” ~ Mignon McLaughlin
I absolutely love weddings. I love seeing everyone happy and dancing with his or her shoes off in the bride and groom’s honor. I love how you can see the bride and groom fall in love again when they say, “I do.” Whether it’s a big wedding or a small one, it is definitely an intimate time in people’s lives.
Clint and Gerardette got married on Feb. 11 at St. George Catholic Church. Before then, I took pictures of their rings, shoes, the dress, etc. For the whole wedding, I shot over 500 pictures. I shot the dress and Gerardette’s shoes at Freestone Park in Gilbert.
